# Email to Apers

> Start a chat with Apers straight from your inbox by emailing chat@in.apers.app

You don't have to open Apers to start working. Email or forward anything to **[chat@in.apers.app](mailto:chat@in.apers.app)**, and Apers will read it, work through your request, and reply by email.

## How It Works

<Steps>
  <Step title="Email chat@in.apers.app">
    From the email address on your Apers account, send a question or forward a deal email to **[chat@in.apers.app](mailto:chat@in.apers.app)**. Attach any files you'd like Apers to review.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Apers gets to work">
    Apers reads your email, adds any attachments to its Data Room, and works through your request.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick up in the app">
    Apers replies by email, with a link to open the conversation in Apers whenever you want to review the full work or keep going.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Info>
  Send from the email address associated with your Apers account. Apers uses it to confirm the request is really you and to load your account. Emails from other addresses are ignored.
</Info>

## What You Can Send

* A quick question, such as "Is a 5.75% exit cap defensible for a 1980s vintage Phoenix multifamily deal?"
* A forwarded broker email with an offering memorandum or rent roll attached
* One or more documents for Apers to ingest and analyze

Apers accepts the same file types by email as it does for in-app uploads, including PDFs (scanned ones too), Excel, CSV, Word, and images. See [Uploading & Understanding Documents](/ingestion) for the full list.

<Tip>
  Forwarding shines for deals that land in your inbox: forward the broker's email, attachments and all, and Apers starts analyzing right away, no copying or downloading required.
</Tip>

## Good to Know

* **Credits apply.** Work done from email draws on your credits, just like work in the app.
* **One inbox, one account.** Apers matches your email to your account, so send from the address you signed up with.
