# Editing Presentations

> Learn how to edit and update existing presentations

Apers can modify existing presentations, whether they were created in Apers or uploaded as PPTX files.

## What You Can Edit

| **Add Slides**      | Insert new slides at any position in your deck            |
| **Change Text**     | Update headings, body text, or speaker notes on any slide |
| **Insert Images**   | Add images to existing slides                             |
| **Reformat Slides** | Adjust layouts, fonts, and styling                        |
| **Delete Slides**   | Remove slides you no longer need                          |
| **Reorganize**      | Reorder slides to improve the flow of your presentation   |

## Editing a Presentation

  <Step title="Open or upload your presentation">
    If your presentation is already in the Data Room, it is ready to go. Otherwise, drag and drop a PPTX file into the Data Room.

  <Step title="Tell Apers what to change">
    Type your edit request in the Chat box. For example: "Add a slide with the financial summary after slide 3" or "Update the title on the first slide."

  <Step title="Review the changes">
    Apers applies the edits to your Google Slides file. Click the file in the Data Room to preview, or open it in Google Slides.

## Working with Uploaded PPTX Files

You can upload an existing PowerPoint file and Apers will read and modify it.

    Drag and drop the PPTX file into the Data Room.

  <Step title="Ask Apers to read it">
    Apers processes the file and understands its content, structure, and layout.

  <Step title="Request changes">
    Ask for any edits: "Add a new conclusion slide", "Fix the formatting on slide 5", or "Replace the revenue numbers with updated figures."

  Uploaded PPTX files are converted to Google Slides so Apers can edit them. You can export the result back to PPTX from Google Slides if needed.

## Tips for Better Edits

* **Be specific about slide numbers** when targeting particular slides
* **Describe the layout you want** if you have a preference for how content is arranged
* **Reference your documents** to pull in updated data automatically
